Advanced Practice in Healthcare - MSc / PG Dip / PG Cert

About the Course

Changing demographics and health care practices mean that an increasing number of patients with palliative care needs are presenting in a variety of clinical environments.  The aim of these modules is to facilitate the critical examination of the key principles and practices of palliative care. 

Modules

Currently two modules are available at Masters level within this programme:

  • HEAL 417 Advanced Practice in Palliative Care  - Using problem based learning and case study analysis, students will critically reflect upon assessment and management techniques in palliative care relevant to their specific area of clinical practice
  • HEAL 415 Therapeutic Communication Skills for Advanced Practice - A skills based module which incorporates the National Advanced Communication 3 day training course and examines the challenges faced in assessing and supporting patients and their families in all clinical settings.

Who can attend

These 20 credit modules are available as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) modules or as part of the University of Liverpool's MSc in Advanced Practice in Healthcare which allows healthcare professionals to structure their studies to meet their own professional needs.
