Register to use the Liverpool Care Pathway for the Dying Patient (LCP)
Why register?
Registration is compulsory if you are intending to use the LCP. This document is copyrighted to the Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospital NHS Trust (RLBUHT) and Marie Curie Cancer Care (MCCC) as it was designed between the University Hospital and the Marie Curie Hospice Liverpool.
A document cannot be called the LCP unless it has been endorsed by the LCP Central Team.
If you do not want to use the LCP but you do want to reference our work, if you contact the LCP Central Team at MCPCIL we can send you a document to guide this process.
Benefits of registering
The LCP provides a useful template to guide the delivery of care for the dying to complement the skill and expertise of the practitioner using it
Registering with the LCP Central Team at the Institute brings mutual benefits. It is vital to get the executive endorsement of your organisation as this will enable the LCP to be embedded within the culture and process of the organisation.
Once registered with us you will receive a copy of the LCP that you can make your own by adding additional information. We would recommend that the core goals remain the same as the national document so that future benchmarking is possible.
The Logo can be used once you have
- Registered with the LCP Central Team
- Utilised the 10 Step Implementation Model
- The LCP Central Team have matched your LCP with the national document
View the LCP logo & annotation UK guidelines (pdf).
The LCP Central Team is keen to see your final document to match it for you and then provide you with a letter of compliance.
